Coming Full Circle at the Valley of Speed

As I head into my third season as the official photographer at Lebanon Valley Kart Track, I can’t help but reflect on just how deeply this place is woven into my life. This track isn’t just where I work, it’s where my story began.

My love for photography started right here at the Lebanon Valley Speedway more than ten years ago when I was still in high school. I asked for a camera for Christmas, and from that moment on, I was hooked. I learned photography the simplest and most meaningful way possible. By showing up at the track, pointing the camera, and shooting. Lap after lap, race after race, I learned how to freeze speed, emotion, and moments that racers and families would hold onto forever.

But long before I ever picked up a camera, the racetrack was already home. I’ve been trackside since I was two years old watching my father and uncle race. The sights, sounds, and smells of race day are some of my earliest memories. By the time I was twelve I wasn’t just watching anymore,  I was behind the wheel. Lebanon Valley Speedway had just opened up their very own competitive go kart track on the west side of the facility.

Racing taught me discipline, confidence, and respect for the sport, and those lessons carried over when I stepped behind the lens. Today, I’m grateful that I still get to climb behind the wheel from time to time, but my greatest joy now comes from capturing the moments that matter most for the next generation of racers.

There’s something incredibly special about photographing young drivers at the same track where I grew up. Seeing their excitement, determination, and pride through my lens. It’s even more meaningful knowing that my parents are now the promoters of Lebanon Valley Kart Track on the west side of the property, making this place not just a passion, but a true family legacy.

Being able to combine my love for racing, photography, and community at the track that shaped me is something I’ll never take for granted. Thank you to every racer, family, and team who allows me to capture your memories. I’m honored to be part of your journey and I can’t wait for another unforgettable season at Lebanon Valley Kart Track.
